Cadets is for girls turning 14-17 in the year of play.
  • Girls turning 14 can play in either the 14 year age competition or cadets
  • Girls turning 15 can play cadets or seniors
  • Girls turning 16 or above can play cadets, reserves or seniors.

Cadets, like Seniors and Reserves, play rotating afternoon timeslots.  Cadet games consist of four quarters of 15 minutes each, with a 3 minute break at half time and 2 minutes at quater and three quarter times.

Gazelles is aware that some cadet teams would like to stick together and others would like a change.  There are two options available to cadet players in 2010:
 Option 1 - Register as a team.

A minimum of 7 players is required.  All players must register on or before Registration Day and be nominated on the Team Registration Form. One player must take initial responsibility for the team and complete this form (available on the Registration page). Players are not required to attend grading if the team is relatively unchanged.  The team will be graded on their 2009 performance. NOTE:  A minimum of two players must be nominated for umpiring duties on the team registration form. See below for further umpiring information.

 Option 2 - Register individually.

Players must register on or before Registration Day.  All players will have to attend grading in November (date to be confirmed).  Players can nominate a friend/friends they would like to play with and this will be accommodated wherever possible but is not guaranteed.

All Cadet teams will have weekly umpiring responsibilities so please ensure there are a couple of players in each team qualified to do so.  Teams must be able to umpire games as allocated by the Umpire's Convenors.  It is up to the team to ensure that their allocations are covered.  Fines will apply to the team if umpires do not turn up for their allocated games.
